In the beginning, there was an idea

Between 1987 and 1996, I wrote a lot of articles for trade publications. I'd give you a laundry list but that isn't going to help you.

It would only be ego massaging on my part and that is not why you are here reading this.

But I will say that I was a contributing editor for Opportunity Magazine and had a few dozen 300 words or less articles published in American Salesman.

Let's leave it at that.

WHAT IS A SMALL BUSINESS

A small business could be anything from a Mom and Pop business to a multi mission dollar corporation. Obviously, that doesn't include corporations the size of Microsoft.

However, it does include a lot of business opportunities at the local and state level.

The link, below should be able to help you understand and perhaps, ascertain the definitions regarding what a small business is:

I get rather strange looks when I tell people about my writing for trade publications because, one, I don't own one, two, I'm not Zig Zigler, Anthony Robbins or some other media hyped charismatic speaker and, three, incredible as this may sound, I am currently working in the IT industry.

But I do get quoted: objections-are-opportunities

WHAT IS A BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY

A small business opportunity is a perception that a product or service with sufficient profit to make the effort to create and is in enough of a demand to warrant your time, money and effort to bring it to life.

Okay, a more easier way of saying this is, if there is a demand for a product or service that has not been over done, you may want to consider it.

If your idea is not so cliched to the point where everyone is sick and tired of hearing about "Your never going to believe what happened next" or "this is amazing", or "is life changing" or "become so thick and firm, you wife will salute you with a screaming orgasm", it's probably worth looking into as a business opportunity.

With that said, the next article will be how to start a small business venture. Or should I say adventure.
